I won first place at the recently concluded Tezmas PH contest!
Tezos is a blockchain and it’s crypto currency is known as $XTZ. Thanks to the contest organizers: Bitpinas and TZAPAC, I was able to “mint” my artwork as a non-fungible token (NFT) here. I wouldn’t have any crypto currency otherwise to make an NFT!
It’s a simple idea, but a long execution.
Paskong Pilipino is reminiscent of Larry Alcala’s Slice of Life cartoons with the intention to evoke the nostalgia of yesteryear and the frenetic energy that Filipinos have grown accustomed to each and every Christmas season. Yet it exists in a dimension of the Philippine present where one can still see the Filipino smile in any venue, without any masks and unsocial distancing. The work took 2 weeks from November 30, 2021 to the deadline December 13, 2021 and was created entirely digitally.
I have family and a few friends that may be found in the Paskong Pilipino – but only I know who’s who!
