God permit Satan to Lead the World in order to Test us and measures our Trust.

  • Kenneth Ventic

Are you aware for the coming of Christ our Lord?

  • I’m not as aware as I want to be.

  • Ross

    Joel,

Christ is coming back one day for those of us who have accepted/confessed our belief in what he did for us. Chris died for us while we were yet sinners Romans 5:8. Christ died for us because God love the world so much John 3:16. The only way to get to heaven is to confess with our mouths the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead Romans 10:9-10

  • MiG29

    you painted that?

that’s pretty awesome. keep it up.

  • MR. failure

I am being tested by life over and over again.

I almost think that god has forgotten about me and handed me over to Satan.

Anyways, saw ur painting and it and made me feel good.

    Well done and great imagination.

  • I’m really curious as to how this post seems to be drawing the most comments.

nice pic your good this really says something about you
you do belive in jesus right?he is the one and only son of god

  • I hate god

LOL You christians and your stupidity. Satan isn’t real. Niether is god. Deal with it. You’re not gonna go to hell, nor am I. Stop being ignorant.

  • Now if no demon named Satan exists then what stupidity would you use to explain the exorcism of demons and evil spirits?

At the very least, demons are real. And the reason why you haven’t been possessed yet is because of the “non-existent” God you hate, well I believe he’s got plans for you – regardless of whether you believe in him or not.

  • J. Morales

Can there be a Demon greater than God?

  • @ J. Morales

    No.

But one can make a coin APPEAR greater than the sun if you put the coin real close to your eyes.

  • pedraxas

    hi guys
you know what is our problem
its knowing of l lightness without perception of darkness
its a kind of human nature that likes to seperate beauty from everything that is not beayty

  • mell

WOW not only is LOL a bad way to start a comment….neither is using the word “stupidity” seeing as how if dictionaries weren’t so readily used you couldn’t define it….
aside from that you are NOT the only person on the planet that blindly accuses us of being ignorant.

sharing cupcakes with the class makes the teacher happy though

out of pure personal curiousity what do you think happens after death or are you denying that obvious factor too?

  • this says to me god hated satan for having a diffrent view to him and give me the feeling of hate and pain

  • I’m pretty sure I sneezed the same looking thing 12 minutes ago

  • @ gods armpit

I wished I sneezed like that!

  • @ satans minon

It’s feelings of hate & pain that made me paint it.

    Joel,

You said in line #9. “I’m really curious as to how this post seems to be drawing the most comments.”

Anytime you post “religious” material you get the nuts coming outta the wood work from both ends… the self-righteous and the condemned… but who is who??? But I will say that every human being is entitled to an opinion… Beautiful work.

I also liked what pedraxas had to say… #17

Personally I believe we should utilize what elements work best for our own individual lives and not try and get everyone to believe what we believe as individuals simply to justify that belief… I believe any “religion” that feels it is the only way… is a sickness to our human nature.

Religion is not Spirituality, it is Control.

Thank you for sharing your art.

  • Mell

I realize im acutaully becoming a nuisance to the artist (my apologizes for that)
but i really am drawn to the work
and to make a point at descretion “if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anthing at all” doesn’t apply to artistic comments
    they help growth towards criticism.
but religion is kind of a governmental term for orginizations and establishments that supliment the masses with something or another.
Faithfullness is a personal connection that money or material objects cannot {or should not really} inerfer with.
with such a beautiful connection and feeling to something that creates a joy unimaginable wouldn’t you want to share it?
I don’t agree with people that say “you’re wrong im right”
but sharing something so wonderful with someone, you may not even know, feels great no matter what it is
    .

[again i apologize for coming back so much with long paragraphs of my blatherings.....i think i have and keybaord addiction ]

    Joel,

I stumbled across this by shear accident and, quite against my usual proclivity, decided to post a comment.

Whilst I can pretty much claim to be a true atheist i.e. I can accept that it is not beyond the realm of possibility that a “God” exists; and a “Satan” for that matter, I do whole heartedly believe that human’s have the capacity to shape their lives through their actions / inactions – free will, if you like.

If spiritual belief helps an individual to make sense of the world around them and provides comfort, it is good for them and those around them.

If spiritual belief drives daggers through society, or the misinterpretation thereof, it is a misjustice to the entire premise that those “good” religions are built upon. Unfortunately, no religion is without it’s blemishes in this respect – well, maybe Buddhism gets away on the whole?

Your painting inspired a brief thread of these thoughts in me, hence my post. Given the breadth of comments, your painting has inspired debate; some maybe not so healthy – ditto re Magus’ (Magi’s?) post #24 though in that having an opinion is a right of every individual.

From the little I remember of my Christian ramblings through life, I do recall that Satan was God’s “right hand man”. In his wont of God’s power, of covetting what he did not have, he incurred the wrath of God.

Regretfully, the same both does and does not translate into modern society.

    Where it doesn’t: -
**Too many times do we see people get little or no retribution / justice for the ills they have suffered.
**Too many times do we see good people suffer at the hands of others or “acts of God” – strange that bad is attributed to the holy.

    Where it does: -
**A lot of the times these events happen due to human’s covetting what they do not have.

Anhoo, enough of a rant from me. Great painting; how I’d love to have a talent like that, but I won’t kill you for it ;o)

    Take care,

    MP

I only get inspired by another persons work once every few years, and only when I see something that I feal is completely unique and truley speaks to me. consider me very inpired. this peice is great. its powerfull and smooth at the same time. love it.

    its AMAZING!

  • The “Devil” is only a slander of an ancient pagan god. Everything in christianity is just lies and slander of the faiths that came before it. Get your facts straight.

    “Christ” never existed,

“Satan” who is really The Powerful TRUE PAGAN GOD, is the “enemy” of lies and slander and of those who oppose his justice.

  • Looks like Mr./Ms. Hail Satan ‘s not going to be celebrating Christmas!

  • Magus

HA! I love that you are so light hearted to some of these outrageous comments that your painting has stirred.

Christianity/Satanism seems they are one in the same… a religious conundrum. Both sides (not too mention a hundred other religious beliefs) battling for supreme belief of what is “TRUTH”… most of it I see comes from fear and hatred. I don’t think this forum was put here to start a holy war… and I see no need to post links to read up on about Satan (even though I did check a few of them out…)

I think we are curious by nature and I also truly believe that we should search the shadows and not just what we are told to find in the light… there is so much more to spirituality than God or Satan or Kali or Buddha… they are merely symbols of a direction we choose to follow. If most were not so uncertain and insecure about what they hope is truth they wouldn’t post scripture (post #6, Thanx Ross for your… insight) or “Hail Satan” w/ many links to follow (Thanx #29, I’m curious as to why a painting would strike such angst…)

I am an artist myself and love to create visuals that stir emotion or imagination… these things are vital to our existance but I would hope that one day we can learn to do w/out the Anger, hatred, fear and self righteuosness… but as long as religion is a foundation w/ so many beliefs weighting it down it will always crack beneath our feet….

    Thanx Mell!

    MP. UK!!

and Chris A. for your insight! Well said…

and of course Joel, for his wonderful work stirring our curious minds.

    Marc

  • Mell

yes i think alittle more than ‘a stir’ has effected others with this, extremely beautiful, painting. [sorry i pasted it as my background]
    you’re insanely talented joel!!
    {i can’t paint to save my life….ink till the end for me}

But that aside inspiration pulls me in, and with the turn of events, and i think you know what im refering to, that is quickly taking over this country is covering more ground than ever imagined. I don’t want to sound like those crazed lunatics with a banner on a busy street, but the end IS near and time is running out for those who continue to deny him. which is sad. true faith will have to prevail over corporations and money….that being in itself a difficult task, will happen just not right away. it’s very frustrating its stressful and exhausting…..but sooo worth it in the end. i beleive if we open to the eyes to just one more person in need then mission accomplished and all the logicalists and hecklers really don’t matter.
and Magus i have to say thank you! you’re response is less on the defensive and more on reasoning.
[wow i hope we realize sooner or later that we're actually starting a slow IM page because we're starting to just chat instead of comments.]….[no problem with that mind you but we're taking up alot of room for people who wanna just leave comments...heh...]

Deny or Accept someone’s beliefs having set yours in stone on your heart is very impotant. being connected personally is such a feeling that doesn’t come around often. so take it
    there i’m done =]

[hahahha still laughing about Joels response to Hail Satan]……[who seems like he needs a good hug or two]

  • anynomus post

Faith notwithstanding, it’s a crappy picture.

  • Lynne

    interesting debate!

my comment is on the art piece .My first impression was one of WOW, its great, but i looked at it for quiet some time trying to pinpoint my discomfort which i feel are two things. Firslty the body appears to be a female ( satan to my understanding is male) and secondly the wings are square.

But if done in 15 minutes, its brilliant. Your body proportions and overall composition are impressive.

  • one of his

For question in 17. “can there be a demon greater than god?”
No there cannot be. God is the one pulling all the strings. Yes there is a plan for us all, “he” tells the tale of thousands of years to come, he knew i was going to type this comment before i have typed it in, for those who sin were meant to be sinners, god did this to Lucifer for a reason. what is peace without war. we would not have the peace we have without war for the land. I can say right now, the ‘Apocalypse’ began the day we came to this piece of crap, ruin we call land that was once called beauty. Humanity was made to destroy itself. Lucifer was the first, and we are all being dragged down with him. nothing is pure. I absolutely believe in god, i fear him as much as i love him. But i know he has plans for us all, there is only one place left to go for the un-pure. Accept i, that all we can do. Art is full of emotion and is an image of dream, imagination can depict reality, a wish you may call it, i see this as a sign of acceptance, and i am proud of the artist.

  • Mell

    amen to that…..

  • Leo

i dont like the idea of a demon or satan just being shot and destroyed by a massive holy sword-like bolt…. looks to me like he is still floating about in hell and that was an unprovoked attack in his territory. to me that means that god is basically a coward who attacks people from a distance (if he even exists)

  • @ Leo

A long distance strike is probably seen as cowardice if we think the attacker is weaker than the target.

    Hi again, Joel,

I opted to receive notifications for this blog when I originally posted back in October. An unusual action for me however, I was intrigued as to how the dialogue would evolve.

Unsurprisingly, there has been a mixture of honest debate, vitriol, and the odd comment on the art itself. Humanity never fails to disappoint me when it comes to spleen venting though, especially when dealing with emotive topics such as religion.

I, like Mell, applaud those; Magus especially, in my humble opinion, who can be a little more objective in their views, even if the wider audience do not agree with their sentiment.

Moreover, and contrary to the view of one of his’ (post #35), I would add that, if humanity could deal with conflicts (of opinion or whatever) more dispassionately, the world would be a much better place. Peace is not contingent on or an outcome of War, despite the rhetoric that those who prosper from it espouse – politicians, kings, despots, arms dealers ;o) You could however, argue that would has led to the rate of development in sciences, etc, as societies attempt to stay one step ahead of their competitors. Personally, I’d prefer to still be making fire with twigs than worrying whether some fanatical lunatic is going to suicide bomb my local chippy (sorry – British humour that last one).

Anyhoo, to quote my last post: -

If spiritual belief drives daggers through society, or the misinterpretation thereof and it’s an injustice to the entire premise that those “good” religions are built upon. Unfortunately, no religion is without its blemishes in this respect …

So please get off your high-horses and conduct yourselves with a little decorum.

And here endeth the lesson…. :P

You’ll be good now, you hear..!

did God hate satan? does God still hate satan? will God continue to hate satan? can anybody answer my questions? if i look to the problems from satan’s side, maybe he wanted to come back to His side.. just look at this painting… that’s satan right? it looks like he regret it… am i wrong?

  • @ Pain

I do not think God ever hated any of His creations. Everything in the universe was good when He created it, that’s in the book of Genesis. It was sin that corrupted the world.

Think of the worst person you know, do they want to “come back to your side”? If they do, then there is hope for you two to work things out.

However, it clearly says in the Bible that God will cast Satan into the lake of fire. So I’m certain, regardless of my painting, that Satan feels no remorse and has no intention to return to God’s side.

Satan would rather have some of us believe that he is a human rights victim, that we feel sorry for him, and that we take up his cause against the All-Knowing God Most Holy.

By the way, God does not hate us! Perhaps that is what you’re really asking? In fact, God loves us. He says so. If you’re experiencing a tough time, and you don’t understand WHY God would do such a thing, please look up Romans chapter 8 verse 28 of the Bible.

  • Hallelujah! What a magnificent painting. The Cross peircing Satan reminds me of the victory over sin, Satan and death that was acheived through the crucifixion and resurrection of jesus Christ, the Saviour of the World.

    John 3:16-21

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

    John 3:36

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him

  • Mike

Badass painting… that’s really all that needs to be said, even though people love to chime in on a futile argument.

Joel, look at it this way: your art has moved people. Just be happy your post didn’t have like 1 or 2 comments from your family members. Controversy gets people talking. Good work.

Either way, it’s a great image.

  • satan an god can suck on what i have because all they are is suckers. they are not real gest lik the greeck gods. fucking christin lovers. hey heres one for you if they whar real wish one wood you pik wood you whant to be a sav for untarunty or be bitin? if avery thang is crated by god then whay did he crat evil its lik he tryeded to get rid of his evil side but if you go to haven then your his slave because if he can do iny thang then way dose he not halp you if you belive hem, but if you do not fallow god then you will go to hell an be bitin?

  • @james

Is it alright if I don’t take you seriously?

  • Great paint!
I feel ashamed for this guy. If you love someone with all your heart will you punish him with eternal suffering just because in your mind you think its “the correct way”?
For me this is nonsense. The person punishad will curse you and hate you to the end. Well, thats how I feel now. If God exist then he already forgot us…Admit it.

  • @ Roland

I like to remember the story of the footprints in the sand whenever I’m in tough times. Know that one?

I only see my footprints during times of trouble, but in reality it is God who carries me.

  • Christian

For those people that don’t believe maybe someday you will find God.
We just need to pray.Hopefully you will know God before your time is up.

  • Mark

Christian is right we do need to pray.
And for the people who say hail Satan.Satan is powerless against God
And you will someday be in hell burning forever

  • Max

I’ll believe what’s proven. Demons are real, Angels are real, but only as light and dark spirits, not from heaven or hell. Satan is fun thing to worship, but is not real, and neither is ‘god’.. at least the Egyptians and Greeks had the common descency to name their gods… lol
