Rusty Banana Forge

Komikon 2006!! October 21 was a day FULL of energy for local komiks! But I must have gone around several times wishing there was more to do more to see! It wasn’t because there wasn’t enough to experience, but that there was inadequate coverage. Because you see, the Bahay ng Alumni in UP doesn’t have good acoustics for the ground floor and so the Komikon awards (held over the mic) kinda whizzed passed awareness, as well as other announcements. It was generally loud all around the place.. given the low ceiling and the volume of people.

When the bands started playing at around 7PM, the sound was so loud you couldn’t get more than 3 sentences to a person standing 2 feet from you before feeling exhausted.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot more to the Komikon than just the sound! If Komikon 2007 will be held at the same venue, bring your own set of speakers for your table or consider means to lock off ambient noise - your booth would surely stand out.
